Finance Officer

Department

The Finance & Control department conducts the financial administration and performs tasks in relation to the budgets, quarterly reports, annual accounts, (financial) analyses, streamlining the information systems and processes, etc.

 

General function description

The administrative Finance Officer is responsible for maintaining financial records and organising correspondence through accurate interpretation of financial information.

  • Maintain the accounts payable and accounts receivable administration;
  • Process and encrypt incoming invoices;
  • Archive invoices and statements;
  • Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable mailboxes;
  • Sends reminders and process incoming outstanding payments;
  • Answer first and second line questions and requests regarding Finance;
  • Archive various documentation from Finance & Control;
  • Maintain the administration for the student payroll;
  • Produce and customise requested financial overviews;
  • Organise working permits for Student Assistants;

 

Candidate profile

You have/are:

  • A vocational college graduate (MBO level 4);
  • Relevant financial work experience, preferably in a similar position;
  • Knowledge of and experience with financial software, preferably Finall and Excel;
  • An excellent command of English and Dutch, both spoken and written;
  • A hands-on approach and an ability to work independently;
  • An affinity with education and/or the hospitality industry.

 

Remuneration

Depending on your professional experience and qualifications, your salary will be in line with the sector’s collective agreement (CAO-HBO). In addition, Hotelschool The Hague offers an excellent package of fringe benefits.

  • A 13th month;
  • Employees with working weeks of 40 hours are entitled to 428 hours (53 days) of leave with retention of salary per calendar year;
  • A retirement pension through ABP;
  • Opportunities for further education;
  • The possibility to participate in collective (health) insurance.

Afdeling Human Resources

De afdeling Human Resources bestaat uit totaal 5 professionals onder leiding van een HR Manager.

De afdeling adviseert en ondersteunt op professionele wijze zowel de medewerkers als de managers op HR gebied.

 

Taken & verantwoordelijkheden

Door de kleine omvang van de afdeling Human Resources is het voor een stagiair goed mogelijk inzicht te krijgen in alle kernactiviteiten van de afdeling.

De stagiair zal minimaal 4 dagen per week de HR afdeling ondersteunen en ervaring kunnen opdoen op o.a. de volgende gebieden:

  • Werving en selectie;
  • Introductie nieuwe medewerkers;
  • Personeelsvoorzieningen & -regelingen;
  • Interne communicatie & HR Intranet;
  • Personeelsadministratie;
  • Arbo- & Ziekteverzuim;
  • Opleiding & training.

 

Wat vragen wij van jou:

  • Je bent een 3e of 4e jaar HBO student met richting Human Resources Management of een vergelijkbare studie;
  • Je hebt een leergierige en ambitieuze instelling;
  • Je bent zelfstandig en initiatiefrijk;
  • Je hebt een excellente kennis van de Nederlandse en Engelse taal in woord en geschrift;
  • Je hebt een servicegerichte houding tegenover alle medewerkers van Hotelschool The Hague;
  • Je kan goed omgaan met vertrouwelijke informatie;
  • Je bent communicatief vaardig;
  • Je hebt een representatieve en zakelijke uitstraling, conform richtlijnen Hotelschool The Hague;
  • Je hebt een goede kennis van Microsoft systemen zoals Word en Excel.

 

Wat bieden wij jou:

  • Een veelzijdige stageplek waarbij ruimte is voor eigen projectwerk maar ook voor het invullen van je eigen stageperiode;
  • Een stageperiode van minimaal 5 maanden en 4- of 5 daagse in de week van 8.30 tot 17.00 uur;
  • Tegen een vergoeding van € 350 bruto per maand bij een 4- of 5-daagse werkweek.
