Head of Marketing & Sales

Department

The Marketing & Sales department is responsible for the marketing, branding & (internal and external) communication of Hotelschool The Hague, recruitment of students and organising events.

 

General function description

The Head of Marketing & Sales manages the departments, is responsible for developing a strategy for the brand, internal & external communication and recruitment strategy in close cooperation with members of the department and other stakeholders. The Head of Marketing & Sales gives advice within the organisation and to the Board of Directors, writes and executes the by the Board of Directors approved plans, reports on progress, participates in projects and is hands on. 

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manages the departments by selecting and continuously training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Supporting staff with personal and professional development by communicating expectations regarding roles and responsibilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising results; coaching, counselling, and supporting employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards (approx. 15 fte).
  • Strategy development & budget: Develops the marketing, communication, recruitment and event strategy based on co-creation within the departments and other stakeholders including a conform budget.
  • Is responsible for executing and monitoring by the Board of Directors approved plans; reports and evaluates progress and manages complex projects conform budget.
  • Performs market research on a regular basis from different stakeholder perspectives.
  • Develops advices on the development of new concepts, products and services in specific markets/fields to the Board of Directors.
  • Formulates, aligns, advises and oversees policy and guidelines with regards to branding, website & internet and social media, corporate identity and public relations, press and media.
  • Works with external & international parties and collaborates intensively with other departments within Hotelschool such as faculty, HR, finance etc.
  • Is member of the Operations management team and reports to the Board of Directors.

 

Candidate profile:

You have/are:

  • A minimum of 6 year experience in managing a Marketing & Sales department;
  • A minimum of 6 year experience in internal & external communication, PR, press & media, stakeholders management;
  • Experience with managing a top brand;
  • Experience with senior and board level management;
  • Experience with running complex projects within set time frames and budget;
  • A team player;
  • Proactive;
  • A Bachelor degree, preferably in Marketing or Communication;
  • Knowledge of the Dutch & International Higher Education system;
  • An accurate and structured worker;
  • Excellent command of English and Dutch, both spoken and written; a thorough English Language assessment will be part of the selection process;
  • A hands-on approach and being flexible in terms of tasks and responsibilities.

 

Remuneration

Hotelschool The Hague offers an excellent package of fringe benefits.

  • A 13th month;
  • Employees with working weeks of 40 hours are entitled to 428 hours (53 days) of leave with retention of salary per calendar year;
  • A retirement pension through ABP;

Event Officer

 

(0,8 fte – Maternity Leave Replacement)
 



Department

The Event Office is responsible for all the events within Hotelschool The Hague. All events within the Hotelschool The Hague are centralised at the Event Office.

 

The Event Office completes a wide range of activities requiring clear communication, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. The Event Officer must be able to work well under pressure, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of an event.

 

In the role you will work with a number of internal stakeholders such as Marketing & Communication, Recruitment, Industry Relations and Education.

 

General function description

  • Support with operational tasks that involve internal events: selection days, open days, graduation, hospitality events etc.;
  • Produce detailed proposals for events: timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets;
  • Process admissions of participants;
  • Keep the administration up to date;
  • Maintain the event calendar;
  • Central point of contact about events for all departments and students of Hotelschool The Hague;
  • Partly responsible for the events that take place at the Villa;
  • Process the emails of the Event Office;
  • All other daily tasks.

 

Candidate profile

You have/are:

  • A vocational college degree (MBO level 4) or a Bachelor degree;
  • Administrative knowledge and understanding of the related organisational and functional relations;
  • Skills in the precision and accuracy of the administration;
  • Excellent command of English C1 level, both spoken and written;
  • A hands-on approach and able to work independently;
  • Good organisational skills;
  • Familiar with Office tools;
  • Flexible, you do not mind to:
    • work longer hours when it is necessary;
    • work on a Saturday when there is an event planned.

 

Remuneration

Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary commensurate with these responsibilities and depending on your professional experience and qualifications.  

This is a temporary position during the period 7 November 2016 till approximately the middle March 2017.
