The Master Programme of Hotelschool The Hague educates the next generation of hospitality leaders and focuses on hospitality concept innovation, business development and change.

The programme, based in Amsterdam, starts in September 2015 and runs for 13 months. In this time you will enhance your knowledge and leadership competencies, providing you with the tools and perspectives necessary to forge your own strategy and implementation scenarios for your future career.

On completion of the programme, Hotelschool The Hague will award you the diploma and degree title ‘Master in Hospitality Management’ (M.HM).

This highly international hospitality management programme is open to graduates with a hospitality related or economics/business management Bachelor’s degree.

Programme Structure

Small classes with a maximum of 25 students guarantee personal contact with the faculty and interactive, stimulating discussions. The Master Hospitality programme creates and sustains an action oriented learning environment of creative, analytical and conceptual thinking where men and women from different origins learn together.

The Master of International Hospitality Management is a 13 month full-time programme, structured around hospitality concepts innovation, business development and change.

The international hospitality management programme is divided into 5 blocks, each of 10 weeks. Each block addresses a number of courses which are based on inspirational, professional assignments and are supported by guest lectures, field trips and workshops. A study trip abroad also forms part of the programme. A Master’s thesis is the final project of this programme. 

The fact that so many industry experts, both in- and outside hospitality come to our programme to offer guest lectures is proof that this master programme is taken very seriously

You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field. It is also possible you hold a non-hospitality related economics or business Bachelor’s or Master’s. You want to broaden your horizon and you have a genuine ambition to contribute to hospitality innovation in the wider context of the service industry.

You are open-minded, ambitious, creative and always searching for new challenges, all of which will help you to become a future hospitality innovator.

We frequently organise live online webinars to inform you in detail how our master’s programme can boost your employability and increase your knowledge base.
A webinar takes approximately 1 hour. The first 30 minutes include a presentation. During the second part of the webinar there will be time for Questions & Answers by using text chat. You only need a computer with audio and a good internet connection. Sign up now!

Student Stories


The tuition fee for the Master programme is €18.750

The fee includes courses, guest lectures, workshops, a study trip abroad and access to all the facilities the Amsterdam Campus of Hotelschool The Hague has to offer. Additional costs are literature (appr. €500,-), visa (if needed) and costs of living.

We advise candidates to find accommodation in Amsterdam. Upon acceptance, we are happy to assist you.

How to Apply

Each prospective candidate has to successfully pass a selection procedure in order to be accepted to the international hospitality management programme.

All admission requirements are listed on the first page of the application form, which can be downloaded from this website by clicking the button ‘apply now’.

After the initial screening, based on the application form and supporting documentation, a personal interview will be scheduled with the selected candidates prior to the selection board’s final decision.

Applications will be processed continuously and interviews are conducted throughout the year. We advise people who require a visa to apply at least 2,5 months before the start of the programme.

Is a GMAT required when applying for the Master Programme?

A GMAT will be required when there is insufficient information regarding the academic abilities and skills of the candidate or the candidate only has a three year Bachelor Degree.

How many courses do I have to follow during the Master of International Hospitality Management programme?

The year is divided into 5 blocks, each of 10 weeks. Each block covers several courses which are based on inspirational, professional assignments and are supported by guest lectures, field trips and workshops. You can read more about the courses in the course overview.

How do I apply for the Master’s programme?

 You can apply online for the Master’s programme by filling out the application form

The application fee is €75.

Do I need a Bachelor diploma in Hospitality- or Hotel Management for the Master Programme?

No, we also welcome people with non-related Bachelor diploma’s. However you should have an economic oriented educational profile (like international business management, economics).

This very much depends on your personal profile. We advise you to send your CV and ask for a personal consult before sending the application file.
