Application
Should you wish to be part of Hotelschool The Hague's vibrant student community, then you are more than welcome to apply for our programme starting either in February or August each year.

The formal application deadline for our Bachelor Programme was 1 May 2017. Unfortunately, Studielink is currently closed. Formal applications for 2018 will open again on 1 October 2017. The application deadline for August 2018 is 1 May 2018.

We strongly advise non-EEA students to start the application process as soon as possible, e.g. attend an Open Day and a Selection Day as early as possible in the Academic Year. This is in order to increase the chance of obtaining the visa in time, as preparations are needed from your side. Please, check the How To Apply document to read more about the visa application procedure. Hotelschool The Hague will assist in any way we can, however we are not responsible for the outcome of the visa procedure and we depend on an active approach from your side.

Selection
You will be invited to a selection day after you have applied and meet the entry requirements. During this selection day you are given the opportunity to demonstrate your motivation and affinity with the world of hospitality. If you do not have the possibility to come to one of our selection days in The Netherlands, it is also possible to visit one of our selection days abroad. The selection days are listed when you apply. Our selection days in November or December 2017 could give you the possibility to start our Bachelor programme in February 2018.

Visa: Read more about the visa policy for The Netherlands.

Study choice activities
According to Dutch law 'Kwaliteit in verscheidenheid', if you register before 1 May you have the right to participate in study choice activities. This rule doesn't apply for universities with selection, and Hotelschool The Hague is therefore excluded from this rule.

Bachelor Programme

Hotelschool The Hague is part of a programme called ‘Ruim baan voor talent’ (Make way for talent), started by the Ministry of Education, Culture & Science. A number of Universities of Applied Sciences, including Hotelschool The Hague, are allowed to charge higher tuition fees on the grounds of demonstrable added value for students. Hotelschool The Hague demonstrates its added value through the following points:

  • Demonstrable international character;
  • Demonstrable strong(er) personal growth;
  • Demonstrable ability to deal with complex problems;
  • Demonstrable favourable position in the labour market.
Can I apply for Hotelschool The Hague while I’m abroad?

Yes, you can. If you do not have the possibility to come to one of our selection days in the Netherlands, you are more than welcome to come to one of our selection days abroad. The selection days are listed when you apply.

Is Hotelschool The Hague a private school?

Hotelschool The Hague is not a private school as we are funded by the government. Our small-scale university is one of the reasons we are able to offer such unique and successful programmes.

How many courses do I have to follow during the Bachelor Programme?

The Bachelor Programme is split up into three Phases. Phase 1 is all about hospitality performance where "you learn to do the existing well". Phase 2 emphasises the tactical application of this knowledge; here "you improve on the existing". In the final Phase, you apply your learning and experience strategically, where you will be "searching for new combinations". In each Phase, you follow different courses. Please read the course overview here.

How can I apply for the Bachelor Programme and when?

You can apply online by following the steps: Apply for Bachelor Hotel Management at Hotelschool The Hague. If you meet all the requirements, as soon as we have received and processed your application, you will be invited to one of the selection days. It is possible that the selection days are fully booked near the final application day. Therefore, keep in mind to enroll as soon as possible.
