Battle of the Hotel Schools 2013
11 September 2013

On Monday 2 September students from five hotel schools in Europe came together at NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam for the Battle of the Hotel Schools 2013. During this cooking competition, students created a five-course dinner for 60 guests to raise money and awareness for Emma Children's Hospital. Each course was provided with a carefully selected wine and was assessed by the jury consisting of chefs from Michelin star restaurants in The Netherlands.

The Battle of the Hotel Schools started in 2012 as a project within the second phase of the Bachelor programme of Hotelschool The Hague. This resulted in a cooking competition between five Dutch hotel schools and a total of € 2,700 was raised for Emma Children's Hospital.

This year next to three Dutch hotel schools also two international schools participated. The hotel schools that participated were: Hotelschool The Hague, Hogere Hotelschool Stenden - Leeuwarden (winnaar 2012), Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (Zwitserland), Westminster Kingsway College London (UK) and Hoge Hotelschool Maastricht, Hogeschool Zuyd.
