The Association Dutch Hotel Management Schools introduced the Dutch Hotel Management Schools Thesis Award in 2012 for the best graduation thesis of the year. 

The winner of the Thesis Award 2013 is Marijn Weekers of Hotel Management School Maastricht. This year it was a close call with Hotelschool The Hague. The graduation ceremony took place at the research conference on March 13, 2014. All the candidates were present with their family and presented themselves by showing a short film. In order to keep up the tension moderator Frank Lindner of Hospitality Management Magazine introduced a number of critical questions and then finally the winner was announced. Marijn received a travel cheque worth of € 1.500 and a personal plaque. Ad Smits, dean of Hotel Management School Maastricht got to take back the exchange plaque to Maastricht.

  • Saxion Hospitality Business School – Ekaterina Pushkarskaya with her thesis ‘Corporate Social Responsibility and Employee Performance through the concepts of ideology-infused psychological contract and employee engagement’
  • Stenden University International Hotel Management – Nicole Smidt with her thesis ‘The Perception of Service Quality within different Cultures’
