Strategic Marketing & Communication Department

The Strategic Marketing & Communication Department is responsible for the marketing and positioning, branding, internal and external communication, content marketing and the social media strategy for Hotelschool The Hague (HTH).

 

Purpose of the position

Coordinate and implement the (digital) Marketing Communication Plan according to the annual objectives of the Strategic Marketing and Communication department.

 

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Is responsible for developing and executing the (digital) marketing & communications strategy and planning, including country specific marketing communication for key geographic areas.
  • Manages the Customer Journey across (prospective) students and alumni and uses the information to drive the communication strategy.
  • Is responsible for content marketing (planning and production content: videos, interviews etc.).
  • Supports various internal stakeholders such a Bachelor Recruitment, Hospitality Research Centre, Education, Master’s and Industry Relations in all kinds of marketing and communication activities
  • Is responsible for diverse marketing activities, including internal and external analyses.

 

Candidate profile
You have/are:

  • A Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Marketing and/or Communication;
  • Three to five years of international relevant work experience;
  • Excellent communication skills and command of Dutch and English, spoken and written;
  • Affinity with Hospitality and education;
  • Service oriented and result-driven with high energy level;
  • Analytical and creative thinker able to produce new ideas and concepts;
  • Hands-on with a can-do mentality;
  • Preference for a candidate with experience in InDesign or Photoshop.

  

Conditions of employment
Depending on your professional experience and qualifications, your salary will be in line with the sector’s collective agreement (CAO-HBO). In addition, Hotelschool The Hague offers an excellent package of fringe benefits:

  • A 13th month;
  • Employees with working weeks of 40 hours are entitled to 428 hours (53 days) of leave with retention of salary per calendar year;
  • A retirement pension through ABP;

Department

The Skotel is Hotelschool The Hague’s training and study hotel and is the students’ hall of residence for their first year at the Hotelschool. Additionally, the Skotel functions as a commercial hotel, offering a number of rooms to guests from outside the school.

 

The school community is international; both staff and students come from all over the world; the programme is taught completely in English. Hotelschool The Hague has built up an excellent reputation over the last 85 years, the result of the structured educational programme and the experience and quality of our staff, lecturers and instructors.

 

General Function Description

  • Provide English language instruction mainly in Housekeeping but also in Front Office skills to Hotelschool students;
  • Assist students when applying their hospitality knowledge and skills in practice;
  • Support students in their role of residents of the Skotel;
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Skotel, with regard to both administrative and management tasks.

 

Candidate Profile

You have/are:

  • A Bachelor degree;
  • Several years of experience in Hotel Housekeeping, preferably in management roles;
  • Good communicative and didactic skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written command of both Dutch and English;
  • Experience in supervising students;
  • Willing to work irregular hours; there are 2 shifts, 7.00 – 15.30 and 15.00 – 23.30, these shifts rotate over 7 days a week all days and holidays (except Christmas) and are subjected to an irregularity allowance according to the CAO`
  • Affinity with the hospitality sector and education;
  • International experience;

 

Remuneration
Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary in scale 8 depending on your professional experience and qualifications, with a max of 3307 EUR.

In the light of the upcoming retirement of one of our faculty members this position is available starting in early 2019.

 

You will join a multidisciplinary team of faculty working in a range of hospitality related business areas. Position in the organisation

Every faculty member works under the direction of one Faculty Department Head, based upon their area of expertise, for this position it is the Faculty of Finance, Accounting, Law and ICM. The Faculty Department reports to the Dean of Faculty and together with the Dean, the Faculty Department Heads along with the Programme director are responsible for the academic program of the school.

 

Curriculum

The curriculum at Hotelschool The Hague is delivered in a unique competency approach. Courses are integrated using modern methods of practical application and active learning including blended learning, business simulations and case studies, enhancing the students' understanding of each discipline as it is used in real world scenarios.

You are able to teach courses that are closely linked to real-world hospitality management practice. Candidate profile
You have/are:
• A Master degree with a major in Finance or Accounting or equivalent;
• Preference will be given to candidates with several years international working experience in the Hospitality sector in Finance, Accounting or hotel real estate & investments
• Teaching experience or proven affinity with teaching and or training; a teaching qualification and or didactics/assessment training is a definite plus.
• Analytical and conceptual skills and an excellent command of the English language;

Remuneration
Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 11 with a range between € 3,477.27 and € 4,777.65 depending on your professional experience and qualifications. In addition, Hotelschool The Hague offers:
