Programme Structure
Creating hospitable futures requires vision, conceptual thinking and a hospitality mindset. It requires people who are able to build bridges, come up with new business models and find creative solutions. The MBA Programme reflects the importance of customer centricity and service leadership in today’s business environment.
You learn to analyse existing service models, and design, create and innovate alternative business models and concepts. These tools give you the skills to lead implementation and change in hospitality and hospitality related service industries. On graduation, you are ready to embed hospitality principles into any business, making it more valuable and future-proof.

Small classes with a maximum of 25 students guarantee personal contact with the faculty and interactive, stimulating discussions. You work in small multidisciplinary and multi-cultural teams, learning from each other’s skills and cultures. The MBA Programme creates and sustains an action-oriented learning environment of creative, analytical and conceptual thinking.
In this 13-month programme, you explore the world of international hospitality leadership in service innovation design, participating in inspiring, practice-based courses led by our professional, industry experienced faculty. Our courses are supported by lectures from industry leaders, hands-on workshops, regular field trips, and an international study trip. These elements combined prepare you for a final consultancy project in which you, in the role of a consultant, demonstrate your ability to take the lead in strategy, concept innovation and/or change in a real-world environment.
The MBA Programme has one intake per year, beginning in the first week of September. The upcoming intake is scheduled for 30 August 2021. Please note this date can be subject to change.

Student Stories
Click on the images below to read the experiences and quotes of some of the Master students.

Max is 25 years old and was born in Amsterdam. He was raised in Zeist, after which he moved to Groningen to pursue his BBA. However, he somehow always felt attracted to Hotelschool The Hague. After obtaining his BBA he decided to take a leap and apply for the Hotelschool’s MBA Programme.
"In September last year we started this MBA with 17 people from 11 different nationalities. With such a small group, it quickly became apparent how personal this MBA is. In the past few months we became more than classmates and we built a true relationship with each other. The collection of different cultures brings interesting and funny experiences. As for myself, I try to teach the others about my ways, and in return I learn about why others do things differently. I consider this program to be very divers, with relevant courses and interesting guest lectures from various sectors. I can hardly wait for the so called ‘study week’, a themed week that involves travelling to a new destination abroad. After my bachelors, I took some time for myself and worked for one year. During that year, I realized that I needed to further develop and challenge myself. Luckily, the Hotelschool gave me that opportunity. I can honestly say that starting my master here is the best choice I have made thus far.
With the knowledge and experience I will gain during this MBA, I want to become a hospitality consultant. After I finish this year, it’s up to me to show future employers, Hotelschool The Hague and myself that I am well prepared for the labor market and able to spread my knowledge of the hospitality business. I believe that hospitality is a hot topic in every sector. From Bankers to Microsoft associates, I maintain that all stand to benefit from the intricacies of hospitality. I also sincerely believe I can be the one to promote this message
I don’t really have a favorite place. However, I would love to go to Buenos Aires. My father has lived there when he was young. He told me always inspiring stories about it. Hopefully, next year I go together with my family."

Ketteri Nomm (Estonia)
Bachelor in Marketing & Events, Estonia, Alumna Master Programme 2014/2015
“As a Master student at Hotelschool The Hague I have had the opportunity to meet hotel leaders from all over the world, gain new insights about emerging trends in the hospitality industry and develop an understanding that hospitality is not a ‘hotel industry studies’ or similar, but rather a service concept that can be applied to all industries. I recommend this university to people who are openminded, ambitious and appreciate the contribution that HTH puts into its students."
This programme exceeds my expectations. I already learned more in the first ten weeks than during the last years of my previous education

Laura Schukkik (The Netherlands) Bachelor Business Administration in Hotel Management, Alumna Master Programme 2014/2015 The Netherlands
“As a Master student at Hotelschool The Hague I am currently following the Masters programme at Hotelschool The Hague. To be honest, I am already familiar with the Hotelschool since I obtained my Bachelor of Business Administration degree at HTH in 2012. Nevertheless, I decided to travel and work after my graduation. Being at the starting phase of my career I felt I missed certain knowledge to realise my professional goals, this was for me the main reason to apply for a Master’s degree. The difference between the Bachelor’s degree and the Master’s degree is substantial. The Master’s is definitely taking it to a higher level. Of course there is the same HTH atmosphere that I like so much, but the content is significantly different. It is mainly noticeable in the structure of the exams, the time spent on independent studying and the overall focus on hospitality outside the actual hospitality industry.
It feels good to be back! The new Amsterdam Campus looks great and there are many new faces. I am now in my second block of the Master’s and I can already recommend this study to all bachelor students."

Yulia Lyulina (Russia)
Alumna Master Programme 2014/2015 This is what the industry wants. People who are not only very knowledgeable, but also have the right skills and attitude. The introduction week was magical. The inspiring guest lectures really add value to the programme and I am really happy with this programme.

Marcello Magaldi (Italy) Alumnus Master Programme 2014/2015
Marcello Magaldi is an Alumnus of the MBA programme at Hotelschool The Hague. He graduated in 2015, as a part of the first class of graduates. Since then, he has worked for different companies and currently works as a Customer Account Manager for Coravin. Coravin is a very innovative start-up in the wine market. They designed and created a product that allows you to pour wine without removing the cork, which is quite a revolution. They were looking for someone who spoke English, Spanish and Italian and I was looking for a small-scale company, where I could really make a difference and be part of a small team. I started in August 2016, and now I work as a Customer Account Manager. It is everything I was looking for in a job. What I love about my job is the flexibility, the freedom and of course the wine! As Coravin is such a small company, I feel like I’m not just a number but really an asset to the firm. I am the only Customer Account Manager for Italy and Spain, so I have a lot of responsibilities and I get to travel to many different places. When you love what you do and love the product you represent, it almost doesn’t feel like you are working. The most valuable lesson I learned from the MBA Programme, is that hospitality can be used to a much bigger extent than just within the traditional hospitality industry. The connections and the networking are also very valuable to me.
Embrace the broader meaning of hospitality. Hospitality is everywhere. By knowing and applying this, you can open any door..

Laura Osorio (Colombia)
Alumna Master Programme 2014/2015
I really feel challenged to be very analytical and to think out of the box.

Born and raised in Rajasthan, the north of India, Rohit moved to Amsterdam to pursue a master’s degree at Hotelschool The Hague. With an educational background in both accounting and HR, Rohit now feels like he can tie together all of his knowledge. “If you are somewhere different that your own culture, you tend to miss your family more. If I am in a different city, friends can still give me that feeling of being home, but when I am abroad, nothing can replace the feeling of being close to your family.”
“I like the mix of topics and information. During the courses, you bring your share of knowledge to the classes and then you just go from there. And there are so many topics that are brought in by everyone, there is hardly any topic that I don’t like anymore. I just haven’t had any lecture or guest lecture that makes me go home thinking ‘I didn’t like it that much’.”
“We go from statistics, to debating, we cover everything. I love the fact that we don’t constantly focus on hospitality, we look at hospitals, airlines, anything service related! The professors are so interactive, they challenge you to bring out your opinion, challenge yourself, and they want to learn from us as well.”
“My family was asking me to come over to celebrate Christmas. I told them no, I am in the Netherlands now, let me be. I just want to experience things like they are around here. Of course I miss them, but it great to make new friends that feel like family here. I wanted to be with people, serve people and be close to them. In relation to my previous studies, it showed me that education is really important, and to do something really well you need to learn different perspectives to look at certain matters. And that is when I decided then I wanted to go for an MBA in this field. Wanting to be with people, work with people – it made me choose and MBA at Hotelschool the Hague. It’s tough. But I knew it would be. It’s just a lot of hard work, but the rewards are amazing.”

Shara Chernel (Germany/Kenia)
Alumna Master Programme 2014/2015
I really appreciate the genuine concern of staff and faculty. There is a caring and involved atmosphere.

Ana Camboim (Brazil)
Alumna Master Programme 2015/2016
It might sound cliché, but I’ve made the right decision when I chose Hotelschool The Hague to start my MBA. The school is very international, so we are able to work in teams with people from different cultures and backgrounds. In addition, the small class gives us the opportunity to have more personalized lectures in which the lecturers challenge us to think analytically and out of the box. At Hotelschool we are also stimulated to discover ourselves and what is our added value to companies from inside and outside the hotel industry. And not to forget, with the great Guest Lectures and Events we can expand our network to help us to conquer new opportunities and face new challenges for the future.

Gerasimos “Jerry” Diamantatos is 28 years old and was born and raised in Athens, Greece. He is the oldest of three brothers and a self-taught piano player. Currently, Jerry is part of the MBA programme at Hotelschool the Hague.
“I am convinced that I couldn’t have picked a better timing than now, to enroll in such a dynamic MBA program as the one of Hotelschool The Hague. The classes and courses perfectly match my needs and wants, especially given my previous experience. Having a global solid background with multinational hospitality operators, I am now able to lift my skills to a whole new level. I loved everything so far! The management and their attention to detail during the program are exceptional. The lecturers are inspiring and motivating, and the best thing is that they are very interactive. There is always room for discussion and brainstorming, which fits with our dynamic group. There are so many talented personalities around, and all of us usually undertake many activities together! I am super energetic, and I am able to connect with almost everyone from any layer or perspective. I love being around people, which fits my open and communicative character."
“I enjoy waking up early to do some exercise. That feeling you have afterwards, like you are ready to take on the world, lasts for days. Apart from that, I love playing the piano. When I was about 12 years of age, my dad was travelling in Dubai. One day he asked what I would really like him to bring for me as a present. Just out of curiosity I asked him whether he could bring me a keyboard. And so he did. After that, I started teaching myself to play the piano, just by listening and trying to unlock the mysteries of sound. Composing music came naturally, and nowadays there is nothing that helps me re-energize more than playing the piano. You can find me around at the public piano we have at the Amsterdam Central Station, or the piano we have in the hall of school.”
“I have lived in Dubai, and during this time I worked as a Restaurant Manager at Okku. Okku is Dubai’s voted favorite Japanese restaurant, and we’ve won many awards so far. Reaching a nomination for the “Restaurant Manager of the Year” in the “Caterer Middle East Awards” was an extra verification for me to keep pursuing my dreams.
“My ambition is to start my own business at some point. I would love to be able to provide other people with a venue which offers bespoke products and services, and my desire would be to have it in Greece. I have traveled the globe, but my favorite place will always be Greece. The vibe, the open and friendly atmosphere and the exciting feeling in the evenings make me love the Mediterranean. Always keeping an open mind for opportunities, I embrace the chance of being involved in the F&B development of big hospitality operators.”
“Life is about accepting, learning and appreciating. Find your dream, work for it as hard as you can, accomplish it, but never forget to appreciate the fact that you accomplished it. Appreciate the fact that you have made it! Life is a constant escalation of things. One thing happens after the other and they have a reason that they are in that order. It is a constant evolvement of activities that, when you deeply understand them, will make you better.”
